Concrete Driveway Installation in the UK

Concrete is an great choice for UK driveways as an alternative to resin-bound, block paving or tarmac. The single layer of concrete is extremely hard-wearing, which makes this a good option if your new driveway is going to be regularly used with high footfall or vehicles.

Concrete driveways offer a very versatile surface, as it fits into nearly any shape or outline, especially areas that are difficult to cover using block paving.

How Do We Lay Concrete Driveways in the UK?

To create your concrete driveway, the surface is prepared and dug out to the appropriate level. Then concrete is laid to fill the surface, with the top level completed by hand to ensure there is a smooth, even finish. A custom edging line can be included in this to really finish off the look.

Once the new concrete has fully cured, the attractive, low-maintenance driveway, path or patio surface is ready to be walked or driven on.

On a regular UK driveway we aim to lay the concrete to a depth of at least 100-125mm, with the option of a thicker layer on areas for heavy vehicles. Patios or pathways with just pedestrian footfall can cope with a shallower depth of 75-100mm.

Imprinted Concrete Surfaces in the UK

We offer a 'Pattered Imprinted Concrete' driveway option in the UK, which allows you to get the visual impact of paving, with the strength of concrete. Once the concrete has set to a specific hardness, we use a custom stamp to add a pattern on the top few centimetres of the surface. Ask us about the patterns available.
